Why is the Courage to Stand International Camporee 2009 at Oshkosh, WI, USA again?
Planners were unable to find an equal or better facility for 30,000 people. It is estimated that only 1 in 15 to 20 are expected to attend the CTS Camporee that attended the 2004 FOF Camporee. Local Clubs/Conferences/Unions now have valuable experience and information that will help with budgeting, travel and what to expect upon arrival at the EAA Campground. Examples: What is the ground like that we are camping on? What are the showers like? How close is the grocery store? Wal-Mart? Taco Bell? etc. 2004 FOF Camporee attendees very much appreciate the 'cheap' airline ticket prices into Chicago O'Hare and Midway Airports. Local airports like Appleton and Oshkosh, Wisconsin were also convenient. Surveys conducted at the 2004 FOF Camporee and follow up surveys to local club directors and staff said they "very much liked" the Oshkosh site and "hoped we would come back."
